DPW officials said Sunday morning anti-icing via brine solution of all city streets was completed on Friday. This treatment was conducted in advance of the possible snow Friday overnight into Saturday. DPW officials said the residual salt brine on the roads would also offer some assistance Sunday at the beginning of the storm, as the light snow spread into the area. In addition, DPW crews pre-treated residential streets early Sunday morning before salt trucks moved onto the arterials. DPW officials said they would be monitoring weather and road conditions to determine if a general plowing would be needed.
