Armed with a hammer: Man sought in beer burglary at Sentry near Burleigh and Lisbon

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police on Tuesday, Feb. 25 released surveillance video and images from a burglary that happened at Sentry Foods near Burleigh Street and Lisbon Avenue between Wednesday, Feb. 19 and Thursday, Feb. 20.

Police said it happened between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 3 a.m. Thursday.

The burglar was described as male, black, standing 6' tall, weighing 200 pounds, with a medium complexion, mustache, and shoulder-length dreads.

The video showed he smashed a window and crawled through the opening into an office. Police said he was armed with a hammer.

The owner told FOX6 he stole two 30-packs of Best Ice Beer, dropping one case in the parking lot of the closed business. He got away with one case.

"When I saw that video, it disheartened me," said a shopper. "I feel bad for the young man coming through the window, breaking into the store."

His pants pulling maneuver and fall startled customers.

"I've never seen anything like that before," said a shopper.

"The first thing that came to my mind when I saw it was, 'He didn't even care about getting cut up,'" said a shopper. "His body getting injured. These young people really need to wake up and smell the coffee brewing because it's hot. He needs help. I hope he's caught. I hope he is dealt with accordingly."
