Report: Milwaukee Brewers, Christian Yelich close on 9-year, $215M deal
MILWAUKEE -- Ken Rosenthal, MLB on FOX reporter, is reporting the Milwaukee Brewers and Christian Yelich are close on a nine-year, $215 million deal.
Yelich is currently under contract through 2022. The new deal would put him among the highest paid in the league -- ranging around $27 million per year.
The extension would eliminate the club option -- and add seven years to his current contract.
Angels centerfielder Mike Trout remains the highest-paid position player at $35 1/2 million per season.
