116 deaths in Wisconsin due to COVID-19; 2.9K positive cases, 31K+ negative

MILWAUKEE — The total number of positive cases of the coronavirus rose to 2,885, officials with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported Thursday, April 9. Of those, 843 have required hospitalization (29%). DHS officials reported 31,424 people tested negative, and there have been 111 deaths in the state.

Milwaukee County’s coronavirus dashboard showed 1,560 positive cases in the county Thursday afternoon, and 68 deaths.

DHS officials reported 1,484 positive cases in Milwaukee County (as of 9 p.m. Wednesday) and 65 deaths.

Additional positive cases reported by health officials Thursday brings us to 2,988 statewide.

The additional three deaths in Milwaukee County, plus additional deaths reported by health officials in Dane and Ozaukee Counties Thursday, brings us to 116 statewide.
