200+ deaths in Wisconsin due to COVID-19; 4K+ positive cases, 42K+ negative

MILWAUKEE — There have been 211 deaths and 4,199 positive cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) as of Saturday, April 18. 43,962 people have tested negative.

According to the Milwaukee County coronavirus dashboard, there have been 2,141 cases and 114 deaths related to the coronavirus in the county. However, the DHS reported fewer cases -- 2,065 -- and additional deaths -- 122 -- in Milwaukee County,

With additional data reported by Milwaukee County and other counties across the state, the total number of cases statewide reached 4,286. There have been 216 deaths.

For the first time Saturday, Bayfield County and Marquette County reported a death related to the virus.

Of those who have tested positive, 1,176 have required hospitalization — 28% of cases — according to the Department of Health Services as of 2 p.m. April 18.
