DHS: 6K+ positive cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin, 286 deaths, 2K+ recovered, 61K+ negative

MILWAUKEE -- The number of positive cases of COVID-19 topped 6,000 Monday, April 27. Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported a total of 6,081 positive cases statewide, and 281 deaths. Of the positive cases, 1,415 (23%) have required hospitalization. DHS officials reported 61,311 people tested negative, and 2,882 have recovered (47%).

The Milwaukee County coronavirus dashboard showed 2,708 cases and 156 deaths related to the coronavirus in the county.

Health officials reported additional positive cases and deaths Monday to bring the total number to 6,170 statewide, along with 286 deaths. DHS data is as of 9 p.m. the night before.
