8,721 positive cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin, 355 deaths, 4K+ recovered

MILWAUKEE — The number of people in the state testing positive for COVID-19 grew to  8,721 on Tuesday, May 5. There have been 355 deaths statewide. More than 83,000 people have tested negative.

The Milwaukee County coronavirus dashboard showed 3,447 positive cases and 196 deaths related to the coronavirus in the county as of Tuesday afternoon. However, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) reported 3,353 cases and 201 deaths related to the virus.

As of Monday, the DHS website noted there were 4,131 cases that were listed as recovered — or about 48% of the overall positive cases.
