Lauren Keene is currently a student at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She is double majoring in both Journalism, Advertising and Media Studies along with Digital Arts and Culture. She’ll be graduating in December of 2019, and she looks forward to an exciting career in journalism!
Before joining the Digital Team at Fox 6, Lauren was a freelance culture contributor at various Milwaukee publications including Shepherd Express and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. She’s also won numerous awards for her college work, including first-place prizes from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association and the Milwaukee Press Club.
Outside of work, she’s a huge fan of music, fashion and all things vintage! She loves thrift shopping, going to shows and watching new T.V. shows.

MILWAUKEE — A man was taken to the hospital following a stabbing near Cesar Chavez Drive and Scott Street Saturday morning, Nov. 16. The incident happened around 9:15 a.m. Police said the victim and stabber are boyfriend and girlfriend and got into a physical altercation. During the altercation, the man was stabbed. BELOIT, Wis. — Beloit police are investigating a homicide that left a 34-year-old man dead in Beloit Saturday, Nov. 16. The shooting took place near Newfield and Glen around 4 a.m. The 34-year-old male victim was pronounced dead at Beloit Memorial Hospital at 4:52 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16. MILWAUKEE — Two men were hurt — and arrested after a shooting and crash on Parkway Drive near 60th Street Sunday, Nov. 10 around 2:30 a.m. Police said the men, ages 30 and 26, were shot while inside a vehicle. After being shot, the driver crashed into a tree. Both victims sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. They were taken to the hospital for treatment. KENOSHA — Kmart parent company Transformco announced Friday, Nov. 8 that the Kmart location in Kenosha will be closing in January of 2020. “We have made the difficult but necessary decision to streamline our operations and close 96 Sears and Kmart stores,” said Transformco in a news release. MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police confirmed with FOX6 that one person was shot near Sherman Boulevard and Capitol Drive on Sunday morning, Nov. 3. The shooting happened around 10:13 a.m. The victim was shot in the leg. There was no immediate word on the victim’s condition. An investigation was underway to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
MILWAUKEE — A 21-year-old man accidentally shot himself near 26th Street and Meinecke Avenue early Sunday, Nov. 3. It happened around 12:30 a.m. Police said the man’s injuries were not life-threatening. During the investigation, police said the man admitted to accidentally shooting himself. The investigation was ongoing.
MILWAUKEE — A 41-year-old woman was stabbed by her live-in boyfriend near 14th Street and Highland Avenue Saturday, Nov. 2. According to the police, the incident happened around 9:50 a.m. The woman and her boyfriend got into an argument, which escalated into a stabbing. The man stabbed the woman several times. The woman suffered serious injuries, and was transported to a nearby hospital. The 31-year-old suspect fled the scene — but later turned himself into police. An investigation was ongoing.
