      ORLANDO – Multiple¬†wheelchair veterans who receive care at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center won 37 medals at the 38th National Veterans Wheelchair Games in Orlando, July 30 to Aug. 4.   • Wisconsin Sports Awards takes center stage at Fiserv Forum

    MILWAUKEE – For the 7th year, the Wisconsin Sports Awards takes center stage to honor local athletes and teams of all levels in the state. Over the years the program has moved around the state using different locations as part of the experience. This year the celebration moved back to downtown Milwaukee, raising the curtain on the brand new Fiserv Forum. Tim Van Vooren takes us to the “blue carpet” for some of the early festivities.

    MILWAUKEE — With the calendar turning over to August, that means high school football is fast approaching. First practices starting this week. The first games will take place the weekend of August 18th. That will also be the first week of the High School Blitz on FOX6.

    MADISON– Heritage Christian almost didn’t exist as a school this year, but today the girls basketball team delivered the first ever state championship to the Patriots. A dominating performance from the tip had coach Terry Bennett, (3rd year, 62-11), and his team lifting the WIAA Division 5 gold ball after dismantling Owen-Whithee, 79-51.     WHITEWATER — UW-Whitewater is going to Salem in March. The eighth ranked Warhawks defeated sixth ranked Virginia Wesleyan 76-62 in a NCAA III tournament sectional final on their home court.
