      JEFFERSON – Alison Hauser was introduced to the sport of trapshooting almost by accident when she was in middle school.   • Milwaukee veteran-athletes take home multiple medals at National Veterans Wheelchair Games

      ORLANDO – Multiple wheelchair veterans who receive care at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center won 37 medals at the 38th National Veterans Wheelchair Games in Orlando, July 30 to Aug. 4. Fourteen local athletes joined over 600 veterans from across the nation, Great Britain and Puerto Rico and competed in events such as track and field, quad rugby, wheelchair basketball, bowling, boccia and more.   • Wisconsin Sports Awards takes center stage at Fiserv Forum

    MILWAUKEE – For the 7th year, the Wisconsin Sports Awards takes center stage to honor local athletes and teams of all levels in the state. Over the years the program has moved around the state using different locations as part of the experience. This year the celebration moved back to downtown Milwaukee, raising the curtain on the brand new Fiserv Forum. Tim Van Vooren takes us to the “blue carpet” for some of the early festivities.

    MADISON– Heritage Christian almost didn’t exist as a school this year, but today the girls basketball team delivered the first ever state championship to the Patriots. A dominating performance from the tip had coach Terry Bennett, (3rd year, 62-11), and his team lifting the WIAA Division 5 gold ball after dismantling Owen-Whithee, 79-51.     WHITEWATER — UW-Whitewater is going to Salem in March. The eighth ranked Warhawks defeated sixth ranked Virginia Wesleyan 76-62 in a NCAA III tournament sectional final on their home court.
