Death toll in Oklahoma tornadoes rises to 22
(CNN) -- The number of people now confirmed dead in the May 31 tornadoes and storms in Oklahoma has risen to 22, the state's chief medical examiner's office said Thursday.
The body of a male child was recovered Wednesday in an Oklahoma City river, according to Shanea Scully, administrative coordinator of the Oklahoma City Fire Department. One person remains missing.
The severe weather that plowed through the state came less than two weeks after a monstrous EF5 tornado killed 24 people and turned parts of Moore, a suburb of Oklahoma City, into rubble.
