GLENDALE (WITI) -- Gov. Scott Walker and Sen. Tammy Baldwin toured two different Wisconsin companies on Wednesday, January 16th. They did so to share the results of their political successes and policies.

Sen. Baldwin stopped by Johnson Controls in Glendale.

"There's too many political games back there and we really need to keep a solid focus on job creation and economic growth and making things in our country again," said Sen. Baldwin.

Johnson Controls is the world's largest automotive battery company. It has a new research and development facility funded in part by the Federal Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

"In this particular case, this probably wouldn't be here. Our plant in Michigan probably wouldn't be in Michigan if the recovery act wasn't in place. It would have been somewhere, but it probably wouldn't have been in the United States, and this probably wouldn't have been in Wisconsin," said Sen. Baldwin.

Instead, the expansion created 3,600 jobs. Alex Molinaroli is the president of Johnson Controls Power Solutions.

"The rest of the world has much deeper issues than we do, we just need to stop hurting ourselves," said Molinaroli.

Meanwhile, Gov. Scott Walker started his State of the State tour in Hartford. He took time to speak at Steel Craft Corp., a metal equipment maker.

"We will embark on a 70,000 square foot addition and the investment in plant and equipment will total $7 million dollars that will add 50 jobs or more," said Gov. Walker.

Steel Craft Corp. credits the pro-business policies of the Walker administration for its expansion.

"This is a prime example of what we're hoping will happen all across the state of Wisconsin as employers, small business owners in particular see that things have changed for the better here in the state of Wisconsin," said Gov. Walker.

The governor will take his message to other manufacturers outside of Madison when he continues his State of the State tour on Thursday in Superior and La Crosse.
