Milwaukee police motorcycle crash, video shows impact with van

Milwaukee police have released video from a July crash involving a motorcycle officer and a van.

It happened near 35th and Lincoln. Police said the officer, a 44-year-old man with 10 years of service, was traveling southbound on 35th Street when a van traveling northbound on 35th Street made a left turn in front of him.

"I've had better days," the officer says in body camera video.

Video also captured the officer being thrown from the motorcycle, but after the crash he was up and moving. He was taken to a hospital with a few cuts, a broken hand and an injured knee.

The driver of the van, a 43-year-old Milwaukee woman, stayed on scene and was cited for failing to yield. Police said the woman was not impaired.
