MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Southeast Wisconsin Multi-Jurisdictional OWI Task Force will be out in full force on Saturday night, April 5th, as the Wisconsin Badgers take on Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament's Final Four. Law enforcement officials will be conducting high visibility deployments throughout southeast Wisconsin looking for drunken drivers.
Deployments will once again focus on Milwaukee and Waukesha County highways and streets to help keep our communities safer.
25 law enforcement agencies currently make up the Southeast Wisconsin OWI Task Force.
Party-goers are reminded to once again pre-plan their rides prior to partying and drinking. Please have a designated sober driver, utilize public transportation such as buses, shuttles, or cabs and DO NOT get behind the wheel if you have been drinking.
If you choose to drink and drive, chances are very likely that a Task Force officer will stop, test, arrest, and lock you up for drunken driving.
If you see a suspected drunken driver, please call cell 911 and report your location, a vehicle description with a plate if possible, and a direction of travel. Please do not attempt to keep up with a suspected drunken driver.
The OWI Task Force strongly encourages the public to have a great time and cheer on the Wisconsin Badgers to victory – but to drink responsibly and not drink and drive.
Remember, have your own game plan in place prior to going out and partying.
