Pewaukee salon celebrates Aaron Rodgers' Day
PEWAUKEE -- Wednesday, 12-12-12 was officially declared Aaron Rodgers' Day by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, and Rodgers fans across the state celebrated this special day.
In Pewaukee at Salon Brillare on Wednesday, the highlights were a special shade of green and gold. Salon owner Janet D'Amato and her staff of stylists hosted a tailgate party, complete with fans, food and fun.
"It's a fun atmosphere. So many of our staff is big Packers fans and so very often, we're closed on game day, Sunday, so we don't get to see each other in our Packers clothes, so it's kinda fun to do something special mid-week and break-up the craziness of our busy, holiday season," D'Amato said.
Several stylists offered haircuts and manicures for $12 to clients who donated to charities the Packers QB supports -- like the MACC Fund.
"We are hoping that all of our clients that walk through the door today are willing to give some money towards the MACC Fund and the GOBO Foundation," D'Amato said.
Stylist Lori Brockel said her clients are cheering on the salon in its efforts to help others, while celebrating the Green Bay Packers.
"They love it! They like the energy in here. We're all in a good mood and pumped for the cause," Brockel said.
Salon Brillare is offering free paraffin treatments for hands in advance of all the clapping while fans are cheering on the Packers during their big win on Sunday over the Bears!
