RACINE - The Wisconsin Humane Society Racine Campus just saw a rise in its number of cats -- taking in a group of 23 kittens and cats who were surrendered to their care from a single household.
Officials say they are expecting more to arrive from that home in the coming days.
According to a Facebook post, the WHS said many are under-socialized and require medical attention for a variety of ailments. As their care plans are determined, the Humane Society will be placing some of the cats into their foster program, while others may stay at the shelter as they recover before eventually becoming available for adoption.
The humane society said they are "grateful for contributions of any size to help offset the costs of their food, veterinary expenses, medications, supplies, and care."
