Russell Wilson invites 8-year-old Wisconsin boy to Super Bowl XLVIII

MERTON (WITI) -- An 8-year-old Wisconsin boy is packing his bags to go to the Super Bowl and he has a former player from the Wisconsin Badgers to thank for the opportunity.

Brayden Ramus, a Make-a-Wish recipient from Merton, started out his whirlwind adventure on December 2nd, 2013 by delivering the game ball at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.

The family flew to Washington to meet Seahawks quarterback and former Badger Russell Wilson.

"To say unbelievable doesn't even quantify what it was," said Brayden's mom, Michelle Ramus. "He had a smile, literally, from ear to ear the whole time."

The young leukemia survivor got to take pictures with Wilson and the entire Seahawks team. Brayden's favorite moment, however, came when Wilson invited the boy to accompany him off the field.

"I had no idea I was going to go into the locker room," said Brayden, who brought home six footballs, two pairs of gloves, Wilson's shoes and countless autographs after the trip.

Each child receives only one wish through the Make-a-Wish program, and the family says the experience exceeded Brayden's wildest dreams.

A phone call on Sunday, January 26th offered Brayden another once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when Russell Wilson called the boy personally to offer him four tickets to Super Bowl XLVIII.

The family leaves Friday.

The Super Bowl tickets were donated by the Snoqualmie Tribe of Washington, and the Seattle Seahawks.
