Badgers gear up for matchup against Baylor Thursday night
ANAHEIM, Calif. (WITI) -- There are 16 teams still alive in the NCAA Tournament, and the Badgers are one of them. They're in Anaheim, California -- getting ready for their matchup Thursday night, March 27th against Baylor.
After savoring the "home court" advantage, playing at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee last weekend, the Wisconsin team is now a long way from home. The Badgers practiced in front of a much smaller gathering of fans than last week -- and when it comes to the big game, things won't be much different.
"The best part about, you know, being out there is the weather and the community and stuff, you know, how big the city is and stuff, you know -- but at the end of the day, we're here to play basketball, and enjoy it while it's here and have some fun," Badgers guard Traevon Jackson said.
"This is a business trip for us. We're here to win basketball games. Hopefully two of them and, you know, get to a Final Four. That's one of our goals, and we're going to do everything we can to accomplish that," Badgers center Frank Kaminsky said.
"Being a senior, you know, just to be playing right now is a good feeling -- to go into the locker room on Monday morning and know I wasn't cleaning out. I get to keep playing, so I'd like to have that feeling again one more time," Badgers guard Ben Brust said.
On the basis of seeding for the tournament, the #2 Badgers are expected to beat the #6 Bears and advance to Saturday's regional final. Of course, things don't always follow the script during the Tourney.
Tipoff is set for 6:47 p.m. Thursday, and the game will be televised on TBS.
