Badgers, the cat's meow in Homecoming win over Northwestern

MADISON (WITI) -- The Badgers were solid in their 8th Homecoming victory in 10 years beating Northwestern 35-6.

Jared Abbrederis got the party going in the first quarter with a 63-yard touchdown reception from Joel Stave. He would leave the game later with a head injury with 2 catches and 74 yards.  Badgers Head Coach Gary Andersen said post game that he expects Abbrederis to play next week against Illinois.

Melvin Gordon also shined, back from a minor left knee injury, running for a 71 yard touchdown in the 2nd and 172 yards.

Gordon wasn't alone in the run game success, James White finished with 101 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown.

Badgers quarterback Joel Stave was 17/28 with 241 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 picks.

Wisconsin is now 4-2 on the year and 2-1 in the Big Ten.
