Fans put rivalries aside for the love of football

CANTON, Ohio -- In the parking lot of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Thursday, there is not an ounce of subtly to be found. This place is for the big, the bold and the bombastic. These are members of the ultimate fan association, they gather each year with the blessing of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Just when you think they might be at each other's throats, remember this is a family built on wild differences but mutual respect.

"Does everyone get along, there are some fierce rivalries in the NFL?" asked FOX6's Ted Perry.

"Sure there is but that's all put aside when we get together because our motto is you can hate the team but not the fan," said a Bears fan.

Since we're all "kumbaya," Ted Perry put this theory to the test with a Chicago Bears fan.

"Say something nice about Brett Favre," Ted Perry said.

"Something nice about Brett Favre? Unfortunately I can't he killed us over the years," said the Bears fan.

Oakland Raiders fan, Jerry, looks like the kind of guy who might knock over your grill at a tailgate, but bring up Brett Favre and Jerry becomes as soft as Jerry Garcia.

"I could say a lot of good about Brett Favre. Brett Favre was a great quarterback and he also helped with the NFL, the way it should be," said Jerry.

Detroit Lions fans, go from a growl to a groan when the Brett Favre is brought up in the conversation.

"I'm just happy that he's in retirement," said a Lions fan.

"He was an amazing player, he was an amazing player to watch," said another Lions fan.

Say something nice? A tough challenge for tough talking fans -- unless they're from Wisconsin.

"Go Pack Go," cheered a Packers fan.
