Louisville wins National Championship, tops Michigan, 82-76
ATLANTA -- Louisville defeated Michigan Monday night in one of the most gripping National Championship games from start to finish in history, 82-76. Luke Hancock scored 14 unanswered points to spearhead a Cardinals rally on the way to being named the Most Outstanding Player at the Final Four. Peyton Siva scored 18 points for Louisville, out of the Big East Conference.
Kevin Ware, who suffered a gruesome injury the week before, was seated near the bench. On crutches, he received thunderous applause when introduced to the crowd.
Michigan, which lost twice to Wisconsin prior to the NCAA Tournament, finishes this season with a 31 and 8 record.
