Marquette beats conference rival DePaul, 66-56
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Davante Gardner stole the show in the Golden Eagle's contest with Conference rival, DePaul.
Marquette trailed 14-3 to start the game and Gardner gave them their first field goal hitting a jumper (the first 3 points were free throws). Gardner later gave them their first lead of the game in the 2nd half with a lay up, making it 44-43 MU. He finished with 28 points and 6 rebounds.
Todd Mayo was strong off the bench with 10 points and Jamil Wilson added 14.
The come from behind victory gives the Golden Eagles a 1-1 record in the Big East.
Marquette will take on Xavier on Thursday, January 9th at the Cintas Center.
