Wisconsin AFL-CIO, two other unions file lawsuit over Wisconsin's new Right-to-Work law

MADISON (AP) — The Wisconsin AFL-CIO and two local unions have filed a lawsuit seeking to at least temporarily stop implementation of Wisconsin's new right-to-work law.The lawsuit arguing that the law is unconstitutional was filed Tuesday, March 10th in Dane County Circuit Court comes one day after Republican Governor Scott Walker signed it into law.Walker spokeswoman Laurel Patrick and Republican Attorney General Brad Schimel both say they are confident the state law will be upheld, just as federal courts have ruled in favor of similar laws in Michigan and Indiana.The lawsuit is seeking a temporary injunction to prevent the law from being enforced.

Gov. Walker to sign Right-to-Work bill at Badger Meter in Brown Deer

BROWN DEER (AP) — Governor Scott Walker plans to sign the right-to-work bill on Monday, March 9th at a Milwaukee-area company whose leader spoke out in favor of the measure this week.Walker announced Friday that he will sign the bill at Badger Meter in Brown Deer.Badger Meter's CEO and Chairman Rich Meeusen this week said passing the bill will lead to between 30 and 50 new jobs at his factory.
