Muskego man, 20, seriously hurt after crashing into cement pillar in Brown Deer

BROWN DEER -- A 20-year-old Muskego man sustained serious injuries after crashing into a cement pillar in Brown Deer on Friday, June 21.The single-vehicle crash happened shortly before 2:30 p.m., on Teutonia Avenue -- just north of Dean Road.Brown Deer police say the driver was traveling northbound and appears to have lost control and left the roadway, striking the cement pillar.PHOTO GALLERYThe North Shore Fire Department transported the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle to a local hospital.No one else was injured.The crash remains under investigation.

BROWN DEER -- Brown Deer police on Sunday evening, March 31 were called out to a home near 62nd and Goodrich for family trouble involving a husband and wife.Police responded around 7:30 p.m. after a 40-year-old woman reported a verbal argument with her 37-year-old husband.The argument occurred because the man brought home the wrong type of chicken.Police said the man agreed to stay with his father for the night.

Man shot, wounded by former officer after altercation on bus files federal civil suit

BROWN DEER -- Manuel Burnley, who was shot and wounded during an attempted arrest in March 2016, has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the Village of Brown Deer and former Brown Deer Police Officer Devon Kraemer, who resigned in August 2018, months after the case was dismissed without a verdict.The lawsuit seeks compensation for injuries sustained in the shooting March 14, 2016 and attorneys' fees.The lawsuit states on that March day, Burnley, who was unarmed, left work and boarded a Milwaukee County Transit System bus -- paying $3 for the bus fare.

Former probation/parole agent accused of sexually assaulting child pleads no contest

MILWAUKEE COUNTY -- A Brown Deer man who was a probation/parole agent, accused of sexually assaulting a girl when she was 10 years old, has reached a plea deal in the case against him.Reynaldo Rosalez, 52, on Tuesday, March 12 pleaded no contest to one count of second degree sexual assault of a child.He will be sentenced on May 23.Prosecutors said he sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl on July 12, 2018 at a home on Fairy Chasm Lane in Brown Deer.

Brown Deer police respond to Walmart for report of woman trying to return stolen TVs

BROWN DEER -- Brown Deer police responded to the Walmart store on Brown Deer Road after learning an individual was trying to return two televisions she stole on Black Friday.Police responded to the store just before noon on Monday, Nov. 26.When officers arrived, the individuals had already left the store.Loss Prevention officials identified the suspect as a 57-year-old woman.
