WEST BEND -- West Bend police say a charge of disorderly conduct has been referred to juvenile authorities after a seventh-grade Badger Middle School student allegedly represented herself as a clown, and sent messages to at least six different classmates.According to police, in the messages, the "clown" told the students where they lived and went to school, and included statements like "if you see a red balloon, just know I was there," and "do you want to play?"These messages alarmed and disturbed students.A father of one of the students who received these messages was particularly alarmed due to the recent news regarding clowns across the country.

WEST BEND -- A 37-year-old West Bend man was arrested for his 8th OWI on Monday, December 21st.According to West Bend police, an employee from Glacier Hills Credit Union called police around 2:45 p.m. after observing a man drive onto the lot and look like he was sleeping in a running vehicle.When an officer arrived on scene, he observed the 37-year-old male driver from West Bend was intoxicated.The officer arrested the man for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

WEST BEND -- A fight over a girl leads to a stabbing inside the River Horse West bar on Thursday night, October 1st.West Bend Police say 27-year-old Andrew Eckl of West Bend, had an argument with a 30-year-old man from Ixonia, regarding one of the two talking to the other's girlfriend.During the argument, Eckl removed a knife he was carrying and cut and stabbed the 30-year-old.

WEST BEND -- West Bend police are warning about a scam in which a man is posing as a We Energies employee and attempting to collect a utility payment.Police say they received a complaint about this on Monday, August 31st.The suspect was attempting to collect a utility payment via the use of a pre-paid credit card at the We Energies customer's business.Police say this man is NOT a We Energies employee.Additionally, police say scams like this have happened in other jurisdictions in southeastern Wisconsin, and in West Bend back in 2013.In each instance, the fake employee attempted to obtain credit card numbers from customers or have the customer obtain a pre-paid credit card and provide the card information to the scammer.We Energies has advised that they never collect payment from customers at a residence or in the field.The West Bend Police Department and We Energies officials encourage anyone who encounters this type of activity to contact their local law enforcement agency and do not provide any credit card information.

West Bend police arrest 17-year-old girl, 18-year-old man for lewd and lascivious behavior

WEST BEND -- West Bend police say a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man were arrested for lewd and lascivious behavior early on Sunday, August 9th.Shortly before 1:30 a.m., officers were called out to an apartment complex in the 2000 block of Barton Avenue for a report of a male and female, both unclothed, engaging in sexual activity.When officers arrived, the man fled on foot, but he was later located and identified as an 18-year-old from Lac Du Flambeau.The female was identified as a 17-year-old from Minocqua.Both the girl and the man were in West Bend visiting friends and had been drinking alcohol prior to the incident.The 18-year-old man was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, sexual assault of a child over 16 years of age, obstructing officers and also issued a citation for underage consumption of alcohol.The 17-year-old girl was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior and issued a citation for underage consumption of alcohol.

West Bend police: 14-year-old girl sexually assaulted by 19-year-old Iowa man at Hampton Inn

WEST BEND -- West Bend police are investigating the sexual assault of a 14-year-old West Bend girl that occurred Saturday, August 1st at the Hampton Inn on S. 18th Street.Police say officers responded to a 911 hang-up call at the Hampton Inn, and while investigating, they determined a 19-year-old man from Iowa met the 14-year-old West Bend girl on the internet -- and came to West Bend.An investigation has revealed there was sexual contact between the man and the girl.The Iowa man has no prior criminal record, police say.He was arrested, and taken to the Washington County Jail on charges of sexual assault of a child.

WEST BEND (WITI) -- West Bend police say you can now drop off your unwanted and unused prescription drugs at the West Bend Police Department -- located at 350 Vine Street in West Bend.On Monday, May 18th, the West Bend Common Council accepted a donation of a Medical Collection Box from CVS Pharmacy and the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids.The Medical Collection Box will be placed in the lobby of the West Bend Police Department at 350 Vine Street in West Bend.Residents are encouraged to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs and over the counter medications in the Medical Collection Box.The West Bend Police Department will accept the following items in the Medical Collection Box: Prescription and over-the-counter medications, ointments, patches, non-aerosol sprays, creams, vials and pet medications.
