Milwaukee police chase; driver arrested for OWI

One person was arrested Tuesday morning, April 18 following a police pursuit that ended on Milwaukee's south side.

MILWAUKEE - One person was arrested Tuesday morning, April 18 following a police pursuit that ended on Milwaukee's south side.

According to police, around 1 a.m. officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of 72nd and Center. The vehicle failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit ended in the area of 31st and Hayes when the driver exited the vehicle and began fleeing on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the driver was taken into custody.

There were no crashes or injuries involved. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
