Traffic stop nets three career criminals, one handgun

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police officers got a gun and three career criminals off the street this weekend after a traffic stop around 4:25 p.m. Saturday.

Three MPD officers made a traffic stop near 69th and Capitol Drive Saturday afternoon, and removed three people from the vehicle after smelling marijuana.

During a search of the vehicle, officers located a fully-loaded stolen handgun in the glove compartment.

Police took the three individuals into custody, and say they have extensive criminal histories including arrests for robbery, aggravated assault and homicide, and all three are felons.
