Waukesha company wins Wis. Manufacturer of the Year Award

WAUKESHA -- Generac Holdings Inc. in Waukesha is one of eight Wisconsin companies awarded a prestigious 2011 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Award.

Generac Holdings Inc. was founded in 1959 and was the first to engineer affordable home standby generators, along with the first engine developed specifically for the rigors of generator use.  Generac Holdings now sells more home standby generators than all other competitors combined.

Generac Holdings Inc. has consistently grown even through economic struggles. Their consistent success in 2011 allowed them to provide 400 new jobs at all Generac locations and 70 new jobs at their newly-purchased company.

The Manufacturer of the Year (MOTY) program recognizes industries all of sizes that contribute to the state of Wisconsin. The winners of the Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year award were selected by an independent panel of judges representing education, industry, and the public sector.
