Moderne is now tallest building west of Milwaukee River

MILWAUKEE -- The Moderne is now the tallest building west of the Milwaukee River.

It's at the corner of Old World 3rd Street and Juneau Avenue in downtown Milwaukee.

Thursday, crews held a "topping off" ceremony, meaning the highest point of the structure is done.

A ceremonial evergreen tree was hoisted up by crane to the top of the building.

The Moderne will feature condos, apartments and retail space, and will be finished in September.
