Underage MU basketball players busted for being in night club

MILWAUKEE -- The Marquette men's basketball team is headed to the Sweet Sixteen. Among them, a handful of players who were busted in a Milwaukee night club. The problem -- they were underage.

According to a Milwaukee Police Department report, six of Marquette's underage players were at Apartment 720, a high-end club in downtown Milwaukee for 21 and older.

The report says police received a call around 12:40 a.m. on January 29th. However, none of the players was listed as being taken into custody.

According to the report, Derrick Wilson, Jamail Jones, Todd Mayo, Juan Anderson, Vander Blue and Jacob Thomas were all in Apartment 720 despite being underage at the time. It wasn't until the next day they were all interviewed by police as to how they got into the club.

In the report, most of them said they weren't even carded and just walked in.

Larry Williams, Marquette University Vice President and Director of Athletics, released the following statement Tuesday.
