Seven injured after school bus collides with car in Germantown

GERMANTOWN --  A school bus headed to MacArthur Elementary School collided with a car Wednesday morning, May 9th near Fond du Lac Ave. and Mequon Rd. in Germantown.

Officials say the school bus was traveling northbound on Fond du Lac en route to MacArthur School. The school bus stopped for a stop sign, then proceeded into traffic and
collided with a car traveling eastbound on Mequon Road. Investigators say the school bus driver failed to yield the right of way to the eastbound car.

Out of the 21 students on board, there were five confirmed on the scene to have sustained injuries, four of which were transported via ambulance to Community Memorial Hospital. The 5th student was turned over to a parent on scene. All injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening.

The other students who reported no injuries were transported back via another school bus to MacArthur School for a second medical assessment by Germantown EMS and to meet
with parents.

Impairment by either driver does not appear to be a factor in this crash.
