Man arrested for OWI at lakefront had child in car

MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputy arrested a 42-year-old Greenfield man for drunk driving Monday evening, May 14th. This, after a tip from a concerned citizen.

The citizen notified a deputy on assignment at the lakefront that the man appeared to be intoxicated and was about to drive out of the Northpoint parking lot. The deputy stopped the vehicle and noted there was a four-year-old child in the car.

The deputy asked the driver to perform field sobriety tests and the driver later blew a .15 on an intoximeter machine -- meaning his blood alcohol concentration was nearly twice the legal limit for driving.

The Greenfield man was booked on a misdemeanor charge of operating while intoxicated first offense with a minor. He faces up to six months in jail if convicted of the charge.

The deputy contacted the mother, who picked up the child.
