Multiple police agencies investigate threats to Gov. Walker

MILWAUKEE -- The Wisconsin State Department of Justice and other agencies, including the Milwaukee Police Department, are evaluating threats made against Gov. Scott Walker through social media. Officials say all threats are handled seriously and can be a criminal act.

Individuals with information relating to any threats is urged to contact authorities at 608-266-1671. Contact information will be required from callers to allow investigators to follow up on their information.

Gov. Walker won a contentious recall election against Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett Tuesday. He said Wednesday, June 6th, he doesn't compromise his safety, but is not going to let that stand in the way of doing his job and mingling with the people of Wisconsin.

The recall capped a bitter fight between Walker supporters and public sector unions and labor groups angered by cuts to collective bargaining that the governor advanced.
