Accused “obituary burglar” now faces 31 total charges

SHEBOYGAN FALLS — 62-year-old Dennis Petrie, the Sheboygan Falls man dubbed the “obituary burglar” returned to the courtroom Monday, June 11th where he faced new charges.

Petrie now faces a total of 31 charges, including multiple counts of burglary of a building and misdemeanor theft.

Police say Petrie would go through the obituaries to find out when people would be at funerals, and then rob their homes.

The Sheboygan Co. District Attorney filed 10 new charges against Petrie Monday, April 16th.

Petrie was arrested on Tuesday, March 20th, after police say they found literally tons of stolen items in Petrie’s large storage building and garage.
