MILWAUKEE — With temperatures in the 90s and high humidity on Thursday, June 28th, officials urged people to prepare for the potential for health issues due to the heat.

High temperatures and high humidity combined Thursday to create a situation in which heat illnesses could occur. Officials advise people to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check on those most vulnerable.

To reduce the risk of heat illness during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends taking frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas.
