Man arrested for fourth OWI after rollover crash on I-94

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee County Sheriff's officials arrested 54-year-old Nathan Kaddatz for his fourth OWI following a crash on westbound I-94 early Thursday morning, July 19th.

Sheriff's officials say deputies responded to a rollover crash just before 2:00 a.m. Thursday near the 35th Street off ramp on I-94. Deputies determined the driver, Kaddatz, had fled the scene.

Deputies smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle, and there were two injured passengers inside.

One of the passengers suffered 10 broken ribs, a punctured lung and multiple lacerations. Both were taken to the hospital.

Kaddatz turned himself in later Thursday. His three prior OWIs were in August 1995, July 2000 and February 2010.

Kaddatz will be charged with OWI-4th (Felony), Injury by Intoxicated use of Motor Vehicle (Felony), OWI Causing Injury 2nd (Felony), Hit and Run Causing Great Bodily Harm (Felony), Hit and Run – Injury Unclassified (Felony) and Unreasonable and Imprudent Speed (citation).

He faces up to 30 years in jail if convicted of these charges.
