Alleged drunk driver strikes four parked cars, drives through house

(CNN) -- A woman's home is in shambles -- and she's recovering from injuries -- after a car plowed right into her bedroom. It happened early Friday morning, July 27th in Omaha, Nebraska.

""We heard a loud bang-and it sounded like a transformer blew. We looked down and there's a huge hole in the neighbor's house and there are brake lights on the other side," Patty Marcum said.

Marcum was woken up about 2:00 a.m. when an SUV went through a woman's bedroom! Marcum says the driver hit a van head-on, and pushed it up through the yard. Then, the SUV hit a vehicle parked behind the van, totaling it.

Police say the driver was a drunk 21-year-old.

"It looks like a carport, like it's just a drive-thru."

The driver apparently made divots in the cement as he struck four parked cars, and four walls -- driving through a fence, the front of a house, through a retaining wall, and all the way through the back of the house.

"He was airborne so he just clipped the top of her mattress. It's a miracle that she survived when he hit her house," Marcum said.

Friends said the woman who lived in the home was remodeling.

The woman's family says she's stable and was only expected to be in the hospital a day or so.
