Racine brothers charged after fight over video game

RACINE -- Two Racine brothers, Abrey and Michael Mayweather, are charged with disorderly conduct after a fight over a video game.

According to the criminal complaint, the Mayweathers were playing "Madden" on Playstation at an apartment building on Washington Ave. in Racine on Monday, September 17th.

The complaint indicates that Abrey kept calling Michael "b****es" -- which infuriated Michael. The "name-calling led to an argument." The complaint says Michael wanted Abrey to leave the apartment (even though the apartment is leased by Abrey). He said that Abrey wanted to go outside to fight. "When Abrey went out of the apartment into the hall, Michael tried to shut and lock the apartment door by using the chain. Michael and Abrey then atruggled to open/close the door. The door broke off of the hinges, and the two fought in the hallway."

While the brothers were in the hallway, Michael apparently "choked" Abrey and then punched him in the head, the complaint says.

A witness statement says the two brothers were "really rolling" and that at one point, Michael had Abrey in a one-arm headlock.

After 911 was called, police arrived on the scene and the two were taken into custody.

If convicted on the charges, the Mayweather brothers face up to 90 days in prison and $1,000 in fines.
