Milwaukee woman charged after nearly hitting officer while on drugs

WAUWATOSA -- 35-year-old Jessica Domenget of Milwaukee faces one count of second offense operating while intoxicated and second-degree reckless endangerment. This, after she allegedly crossed a traffic lane and nearly hit a Wauwatosa police officer while under the influence of drugs.

According to FOX6's media partners at the Wauwatosa Patch, Domenget was traveling southbound on North 70th Street on August 22nd when she crossed the northbound lane of traffic and drove toward a parked Wauwatosa squad.

According to the Patch, Domenget's vehicle jumped the curb and collided with a guy wire supporting a utility pole. The collision caused the front end of Domenget's truck to lift off the ground, preventing the officer from being struck.

When assisting officers arrived on the scene, Domenget was removed from the vehicle and questioned. During which time, Domenget stated that she had taken Clonazepam and Suboxone and had snorted heroin the day before.

Following the incident Domenget was transported to Froedtert Hospital for a blood test, which later revealed the presence of drugs.

If convicted, Domenget faces up to five-and-a-half years in prison and $26,000 in fines.
