Packers to halt alcohol sales at beginning of 3rd quarter Saturday

GREEN BAY -- The Green Bay Packers announced Thursday, January 3rd that during the second half of the Packers vs. Vikings Wild Card playoff game on Saturday, January 5th, alcohol sales will be cut off.

All alcohol sales at the game will be cut off at the beginning of the third quarter at Lambeau Field.

The team's hope is this action will lead to fewer problems with fans inside the stadium.

"We've found that since it's a divisional and a night game people tend to consume alcohol at higher levels throughout the day, and with them stopping sales at the start of the third quarter and with our efforts to have zero tolerance and to make more enforcement actions we hope that deters anyone from being ejected from the game," Green Bay Police Officer Kevin Warich said.
