Loved ones hold "Walk for Hope" in Nick Wilcox's honor

MILWAUKEE -- Family members and friends of 24-year-old Nick Wilcox gathered for a walk in Nick's honor on Thursday evening, January 10th.

The walk began at the Irish Rec Room in Milwaukee's Third Ward -- the bar where Wilcox was last seen on New Year's Eve.

"We've got a lot of friends and family and a lot of people coming together for us," Andrea Wilcox, Nick's sister said.

Loved ones have searched for Wilcox for about a week-and-a-half since he went missing after a night of drinking.

Thursday evening's walk came on the heels of what could have been a development in the case Thursday morning -- when a body was found in the Milwaukee River.

"I don't know that we were necessarily hoping that it was my brother, but we were just hoping it was something at that point," Andrea Wilcox said.

Eventually, the body pulled from the river was identified as a man in his 50s. Officials haven't yet released his name.

"It gives me hope, but, you know, it's been a long time," Wilcox's girlfriend, Kelly McGonagil said.

However, Wilcox's loved ones refuse to give up, calling Thursday evening's walk a "Walk for Hope" in Nick Wilcox's honor.
