Crews cleaning up after dump truck starts fire on I-94
STURTEVANT (WITI) -- Crews were on the scene of a vehicle fire on I-94 near the State Highway 142 off-ramp on Wednesday, April 24th.
Kenosha County Sheriff's officials say a dump truck hauling sand began leaking fuel and caught fire in the southbound lanes of I-94, just north of the State Highway 142 exit.
Officials say this is a single vehicle incident, and there was no crash that sparked the fire.
The truck is in an area where there is construction due to the ongoing I-94 widening project.
No one was injured.
All lanes of I-94/41 eastbound/southbound were closed at State Highway 142 due to this fire -- but reopened to traffic before 11:00 p.m. Wednesday.
