Dealerships prep for Harley-Davidson's 110th anniversary

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Harley-Davidson's 110th birthday is right around the corner and dealers of the Milwaukee motorcycle are gearing up for the big weekend.

The commemorative event takes place this Labor Day weekend, from Aug. 29 to Sept.1, and some dealerships have been preparing since January.

Scott Houpt, general manager for the Harley-Davidson dealership, Suburban Motors, said rentals for Harley-Davidson motorcycles have been sold out since December. He believes the Harley-Davidson lifestyle drives this fervent passion for the bike.

"I believe its the lifestyle, I think its something that any other brand doesn't have except Harley-Davidson - and it's a passion," Houpt said.

Houpt speculates this years' celebrations will be better than the 100th and 105th anniversaries.

"I think the 110th is going to be better yet," Houpt said.
