Police are also investigating a shooting that occurred around midnight.

Police say a 33-year-old man was shot and killed in the 1200 block of E. Kane Place, on the city's East Side.

Pam Thompson heard the gunshots late Saturday night.

"I heard the shots in the house. My grandbaby in the house too, so we all ducked down," Thompson said.

Neighbors say the 33-year-old victim was sitting in the alleyway next to his home, enjoying the evening when the suspect came at him.

"The guys jumped out of the SUV and ran in the back and just shot him straight point blank," Thompson said.

Neighbors say there was one shooter and three people in a vehicle waiting for him.

"I came to the front room, saw one person run this way and get into a black SUV parked right here across the street. He looks like he was so confused, and couldn't get into it. The guy finally did get into the truck and they burned rubber west," Laura Stolz said.

Neighbors estimate the man was shot approximately five times in the head/face. They say the victim lived alone and kept to himself.

"It's a tragedy because nothing ever happened on this block, and everyone was like, shocked that it happened. It's sad," Thompson said.

No one is in custody in connection with this shooting.
