Milwaukee Wave home opener set for Saturday, December 7th

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The six-time champion Milwaukee Wave will take on arch-rivals and defending (MISL) Major Indoor Soccer League Champions, Baltimore Blast for the Home Opener on Saturday Night, December 7th, 6pm at U.S. Cellular Arena as part of our “Salute To Our Armed Forces” festivities!

The home opener will feature a special halftime recruitment ceremony thanks to our friends at USO Wisconsin / Hometown Heroes. The halftime ceremony will involve hundreds of inductees that will be sworn into the Air Force, Army, Marines and Navy. Following the game, there will be a special post game performance from American Music Award winning rock band, Daughtry.

The Wave enter Saturday’s match with a 3-0 record after wins on the road vs. Missouri, Baltimore and Pennsylvania. The Baltimore Blast will bring a 1-1 record to town.

The last times the two teams met was Saturday, November 23rd at Baltimore Arena, where an 8-0 shutout win by the WAVE, spoiled the Blast’s home opener and banner ceremony. It was also the first time in Baltimore’s 34-year history that the Blast were shut out at home. After splitting the series 1-1 with the Blast last season, the Wave look to capitalize on their first victory to win the season series against their archrivals.
