Standoff in West Allis comes to an end



WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- West Allis police say a man was taken into custody following a standoff situation that occurred in the 1100 block of S. 62nd Street Wednesday evening, January 1st.

Police responded to a report of a male with a firearm.

Officers responded, and were informed a man was inside the residence and was armed.

Officers secured the area and made contact with a man inside the residence. That man was taken into custody without incident as of 9:00 p.m.

No one was injured in this incident.

Police are expected to release additional details on Thursday.
