Correctional officer under investigation for alleged rape of inmate

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A Milwaukee County Sheriff's spokeswoman has confirmed for FOX6 News the Sheriff's Office is investigating the alleged rape of an inmate by a Milwaukee County correctional officer.

The Sheriff's Office has completed an internal investigation -- and has turned over information to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.

The Sheriff's Office is asking for charges including second degree sexual assault, obstruction and misconduct in public office.

The correctional officer was being held at the Waukesha County Jail.
