Woman shot while sitting in car in Milwaukee alley
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police say a woman was shot while sitting inside her vehicle Saturday morning, March 22nd. The incident happened around 9 a.m. in an alley of the 4700 block of W. Forest Home Ave.
A 22-year-old woman was the victim of gunfire by who police believe was a lone male shooter. She is being treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Neighbors in the area say the shooting has put them on edge.
The shooting happened just a few feet from Stephanie Egly's home, where she lives with her three children.
"I heard about five or six gunshots go off," said Egly. "I looked outside the window and I saw that there was broken windows on a car. I knew something bad happened."
Officers responded to the parking lot behind D'Matrixx Salon and Spa. Detectives were seen inside the salon questioning employees. Egly says the business recently changed owners.
Witnesses were able to see the shooting victim, and watch the ambulance take her from the scene on a stretcher.
"I did see someone in the car. They didn't look like they could move," said Egly. "I was shaking. I was terrified. My kids were trying to look out the window -- I was trying to get them away from there."
Milwaukee police are still investigating the shooting. If you have any information you are asked to contact authorities.
