CHARRED: Van catches fire, forces evacuation
PORT WASHINGTON (WITI) -- Port Washington Fire officials on Wednesday afternoon, April 23rd responded to a vehicle fire at an apartment complex on Sunset Road.
Officials say a resident of the 20-unit apartment complex pulled her vehicle up to the entrance of the apartment complex to unload groceries when she noticed the van was on fire.
The fire caused smoke to make its way into the apartment complex -- and the complex was evacuated.
A door inside the complex was heavily damaged, and a window was broken.
No one was injured.
Residents were eventually able to return to the apartment complex.
