Delavan P.D.: Man dies at hospital after he's stabbed

DELAVAN (WITI) -- Delavan police say a man is dead, after he was stabbed early Sunday morning, May 4th inside an apartment on Lawson School Road. The victim is now identified as 31-year-old Ivan Guerrero.

Delavan police and Walworth County Sheriff's officials responded to the scene around 3:15 a.m. and took a 39-year-old man into custody.

Guerrero was taken to a hospital in Janesville -- where he later died as a result of injuries suffered.

Officials say there were "several people" inside the home at the time of the stabbing. One of them suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Police say there are no additional suspects at this time.

The suspect in this case is being held at the Walworth County Jail pending charges.
