More charges coming against man accused in "cameras in women's locker room" case

KENOSHA COUNTY (WITI) -- 36-year-old Karl Landt -- charged in connection with cameras found inside the women's locker room at the RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie has had his bond increased by $10,000.

Landt appeared in court on Tuesday, May 6th -- and posted an additional $40,000 to meet the original bond set for him of $50,000. He had earlier posted $10,000.

The District Attorney's Office informed the court that there will be additional charges coming against Landt for alleged secret video recordings made inside Uline -- Landt's workplace.

The court commissioner then raised Landt's bond another $10,000 -- for a total bond of $60,000.

The District Attorney's Office says it is looking into 72 instances of secret recordings involving Landt.

Investigators have been able to identify most of the women secretly recorded -- but not all of them.

A new court appearance was scheduled for Friday, May 9th at 1:00 p.m. for the presentation of new charges against Landt related to the Uline recordings.

We have learned during an execution of a search warrant at Landt's home in Waukegan, Illinois related to the RecPlex case, numerous computer memory devices were located and turned over to police.

During an examination of a file located on one of those devices, a file known to be child pornography was located -- according to police.

Waukegan authorities have now launched an investigation into the files found within Landt's home.

As of right now, Landt faces 11 felony counts of "capturing an image of nudity." No other charges have been filed against him at this time.

Landt remains in custody.

Landt is one of two people charged in connection with the cameras found inside the women's locker room at the RecPlex.

The other individual charged is 27-year-old Melissa Wenckebach of Pleasant Prairie.

Wenckebach faces 11 felony counts of "capturing an image of nudity."
